About

ABOUT MMHI

My Mental Health and I (MMHI) is a youth-led mental health initiative that brings people together to learn, advocate, and create change around mental health and well-being. We are a growing community of passionate individuals from different walks of life, united by the belief that mental health should be a normal and open conversation in every household, school, workplace, and society.

At MMHI, we focus on raising awareness, breaking stigma, and building safe spaces for dialogue and learning. Through our WhatsApp community, weekly discussions, storytelling, mental health education, and creative content, we empower everyday people, whether they have professional experience in mental health or are just starting to learn, to speak up, support one another, and drive change in their own circles.

While we are not yet a registered NGO, MMHI is rooted in real impact and community connection. We are working from the ground up, using the power of stories, conversations, and volunteer-driven initiatives to make mental health more accessible and less misunderstood.

Whether it’s through participating in our online activities, creating content, volunteering, or simply showing up with an open heart, everyone who joins MMHI plays a role in building a future where mental well-being is seen, valued, and prioritized.

MEET THE FOUNDER

My name is Lovlyn, I hold a Master’s degree in psychology with a deep passion for mental health. This platform was born from my personal experience with depression and my desire to break the stigma and misconceptions surrounding mental health, especially in African communities.

What began as a blog has grown into something more, a safe space, a support system, and a movement where individuals can learn, speak up, and find the courage to share their mental health stories without fear of judgment. While I’m not a licensed mental health professional yet, I’m committed to creating content, hosting conversations, and building a community that educates, uplifts, and inspires change.

Through MMHI I hope to continue creating opportunities for connection, healing, advocacy, and real-world impact.
