About

ABOUT MMHI

My Mental Health and I (MMHI) is a youth-led mental health initiative and platform focused on creating culturally relevant conversations, learning, and advocacy around mental health and well-being.

We are a growing community of individuals from different walks of life who believe that mental health should be a normal, open conversation in every household, school, workplace, and society.

At MMHI, our work centers on raising awareness, breaking stigma, and building safe spaces where people can learn, share, and be heard. Through our WhatsApp community, weekly discussions, storytelling, mental health education, and creative content, we make mental health conversations more accessible and relatable.

While MMHI is led by young people, our community is open to anyone who wants to learn, support others, and contribute to positive change regardless of their background or level of mental health knowledge.

MMHI is grounded in real impact and community connection. We are building from the ground up, using stories, conversations, and volunteer-driven initiatives to challenge misconceptions and make mental health less misunderstood.

Whether you participate in our discussions, create content, volunteer, or simply show up with openness and curiosity, being part of MMHI means contributing to a future where mental well-being is seen, valued, and prioritized.

Join our email newsletter to stay updated on new content, community activities, and mental health resources.

MEET THE FOUNDER

My name is Lovlyn, and I’m the founder of My Mental Health and I (MMHI).

This platform was born from my personal journey and my passion for making mental health conversations more open, relatable, and accessible, particularly within African communities.

What started as a blog has grown into a safe space for learning, storytelling, and advocacy around mental health. Through MMHI, I’m committed to building community, encouraging honest conversations, and creating opportunities for connection and healing.

If you’d like to learn more about my story, my work, and how I support individuals through mental health coaching and writing, you can…
